cut fruit collective
Welcome to Cut Fruit Collective, a grassroots community arts non-profit dedicated to uplifting SF Bay Area AAPI communities. We create more resilient AAPI neighborhoods through the power of art and storytelling.
Chuseok Mid Autumn Festival Stories From Our Elders
Cut Fruit Collective's “Stories from Our AAPI Elders: Connecting Generations and Communities” series gives a voice to Bay Area AAPI elders, documenting their oral histories into community art and activations.
For our first project within the series in collaboration with Ssi Ya Gi and the Oakland Chinatown Oral History Project, we interviewed 2 Korean elders and 2 Chinese elders about their memories of Chuseok and Mid-Autumn Festival and worked with 5 Asian American artists to illustrate the elders' stories into zines.
Proceeds benefit Cut Fruit Collective and Ssi Ya Gi programming.

Cut Fruit Stories
An afternoon snack or an apology. A dessert or an olive branch. An obligation or a quiet gesture of care. Versatile in meaning, a simple plate of cut fruit can convey so much without any words. It's the Asian love language. What does cut fruit mean to you?
